Congressman Tim Moore Votes to Keep Government Open, Continue Helene Rebuilding Efforts

Friday, September 19, 2025

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Congressman Tim Moore voted to pass a Continuing Resolution (H.R. 5371) to keep the government open and funded through November 21, 2025. The resolution ensures that critical services, including disaster relief funding, continue without interruption — a priority for Congressman Moore as Western North Carolina continues to recover from Hurricane Helene.

In his floor speech in support of this legislation, Congressman Moore said, “If the government is shut down, those relief efforts, which are vital to my state, vital to other states, including California that are dealing with cleaning up from disasters, vital to making sure that those things continue, if we shut this government down, those efforts will stop. That is malpractice. We cannot do that.”
