Sarah Schoen, a student at Hough High School, took first place for her stunning piece titled "Art Deco (Building)." As part of her award, Sarah’s artwork will be displayed for one year in the U.S. Capitol, joining a prestigious national exhibition that showcases the creativity of young artists from across the country.

Luke Williams, also from Hough High School, earned second place for his work, "Roots of Whimsy." Chloe Sorrell of Gaston Christian School was awarded third place for her piece, "Crowd Mentality." Both of these works will be proudly displayed in Congressman Moore’s Washington, D.C. office in the Longworth House Office Building.

“Congratulations to Sarah, Luke, Chloe, and all eight finalists who shared their incredible talents in this year’s competition,” said Congressman Moore. “Their creativity and passion reflect the very best of North Carolina’s 14th District. It was an honor to recognize their achievements alongside their families. I also want to thank our judges, who were incredibly generous with their time and talents, as well as Gaston Day School for hosting a beautiful reception for these students.”

The competition was judged by a panel of distinguished local artists: Alexandrea “Ali” Pizza, Steve Garrison, and Lyndee Ivey-Champion.
