Congressman Tim Moore Votes to Extend Government Funding, Prevent Partisan Shutdown

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, the U.S. House passed H.R. 9770, the Continuing Appropriations Act, 2027, to continue federal funding through December 4, 2026. This legislation prevents a September 30, 2026 government shutdown while allowing Congress to continue working on the full-year FY2027 appropriations bills.

"This clean, straightforward continuing resolution keeps the government open, protects our national security, and ensures election-year politics don't jeopardize the funding process," said Congressman Moore. "The House advanced all FY27 appropriations bills through committee and passed three full-year funding bills, but Senate inaction has put that progress at risk. This short-term measure prevents a last-minute funding crisis, protects the critical services Americans rely on, and preserves the path to completing full-year FY27 appropriations without allowing political games to dictate the process."

This legislation keeps the federal government open by continuing funding at current FY26 levels. It also preserves funding authority for disaster response and continues programs such as WIC, SNAP, flood insurance, small-business lending, and assistance for low-income families. 

H.R. 9770 now advances to the Senate.
